This is a normal post I'm aware of it, but haven't been following it that closely.
I'd call myself an ex-musician, but I just don't find the whole thing that interesting.
From what I gather, Fender are issuing Cease and Desist letters to manufacturers/retailers of Strat clones warning that they'll face legal action if they don't stop supplying these clones.
Like, technically Fender do hold copyright to the Stratocaster design until 2061 or thereabouts, but the decision to start trying to enforce that copyright now, after 70 years of off-branded Strats seems absolutely absurd.

This is a normal post I only found at mine wasn't a genuine strat when I took it into the shop for repair
He said if I looked closely I'd notice the pickguard didn't look like it had original Fender gauge 3/8" screws, which was often a tell tale sign there's been some after-market modification or use of non-genuine parts, and that where normally you'd see the three '61 vintage Fat Pick-ups with the Fender .295 Series Super Bullet Strings over them, instead there were four big plastic buttons that lit up when you pressed them

He's clearly not talentless, the retro stylings and effects are well researched at least.
I'm reckon in years to come he will be regarded by some cool kids on whatever replaces tiktok as one of the great performance artists, or they'll be confused and think it's just 70s tv.

My first impression was that he's a complete ripoff of a Reeves & Mortimer sketch or background character, but his persistence has worked on me.

I don't need to see every one of his films but the ones that are worth watching from start to finish more than justify the more disposable offerings, imho.

It's a very niche kind of satire and I'm very happy to see it on b3ta.

I feel like there's a decent puzzle in there, but I don't understand what all the things do, and the lack of adequate instructions isn't making me want to keep trying it.

Edit: Got the hang of what all the bits do. The double sideways arrow is especially confusing, but once figured out it makes crossing the streams much easier.
