Centuries of Sound - 1903
I made this!
No cats were harmed in the making of this mix.
So here's my mix of music and sounds from 1903, not a bad year on the whole - in fact, everything is going to continue getting more and more listenable as we get through the Progressive / Edwardian era.
Not going to post the whole tracklisting, that (along with everything else) is on the site, but it's got some Bohumir Kryl, some early Caruso, plenty of weird Russian stuff that deserves a bit of attention.
Elsewhere I'm trying to consider options for how to drum up interest in the project - I made a pilot for a local radio station, so may be doing that fairly soon if they'll have me, also attempting to contact as many "influencers" in the podcast world as I can, though most of them don't seem to consider it a podcast as I don't talk on it. But if it isn't a podcast, what is it? Interest (i.e. pageviews) was much higher last year due to some media coverage, not panicking that it's died down now as it's still very early days and I know pre-20s is unavoidably very niche indeed. Basically I'm just going to keep at it, but if anyone has any ideas about how to get some momentum behind it again then please do let me know - I'm not a professional in any of the spheres it encompasses, and am very much open to advice.
Oh, and my 2017 mix is nearly done, should be out in July (just when everyone wants to think about 2017, I know...)

It's a cliche,
but tell people to subscribe to itunes or follow you on Twitter at the bottom of each post. Give them share buttons. They seem marketing wank, but most people use them rather than write their own "look at this!" tweet.
I also wonder if it would make sense to be more podcasty about what you upload to iTunes - open with a chat about what you've discovered each year rather than giving just the music. Subscribing on iTunes would seem the easiest way to follow an audio project, but I assume people would want the contextualisation that you only currently get by reading the blog.
Anyway, good project - keep it up!

Ok, will try some of that, thanks for the tips.
My radio show (if it happens) will involve talking about the music too, maybe talking at the start is a good solution as the mixing is what I love about it.

Only it's completely unnecessary
It's the great cookie panic of 2010 all over again. GDPRs interpretation of cookies/web data is flaky at best, and "consent" gained before 25th May or required for your business or site to operate effectively is perfectly valid without destroying ux and making your site completely unusable
