He asked a perfectly valid question
And it would have been the very first question most people who aren't aware of the sport - which is the VAST majority of the audience - would have asked themselves.
He could have calmly explained that it had no bearing on the race and that cycling doesn't work like that. He understands the sport, and the point of an interview like that is to help us, the audience understand it. The method we gain understanding is by having the interviewer ask the questions we most want answered. Stropping off because he doesn't like the question just makes him look like a knob-end.

And also, it is entirely different asking someone who has only 7 days previously completed over 2,000 miles of cycling if they are tired and asking someone if they have been doping.

Apparently he had a massive dinglestick, lots of women turned up to his funeral.
One of his mates described seeing him pissed and naked 'crawling around on all fives'.

Yes, it should be required watching.
It has one of my favourite jokes about a man that wants to commit suicide by jumping out of a window, but he's afraid of heights, so rather than jumping once out of a twenty storey window he jumps twenty times out of a one storey window. \edit www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEacGiMO3K0 I remembered it more or less.. :)

That is a lovely video!
My gf is from Warsaw and it is amazing to see everyone stop in places I know to be busy streets.
When I was there at Christmas it was the 30th anniversary of the Solidarity riots which was pretty emotional. There was a really good photo exhibition on Nowy Swiat, which is the main street in Warsaw. Very powerful.
It is a shame that more people don't know what Poland has been through over the last 70 years. A wonderful country with so much heartbreak in its history.

I've only been to Poland a couple of times,
once to Katowice and twice to Krakow, but do feel an affinity for the place, despite not (knowingly) having any family connections, to the point where I decided not to visit Birkenau, as I didn't think I could handle it emotionally.
Its sickening that there's a small but visible extreme right wing element in Poland, considering everything the country has been through over the decades.

The suffering of the country is immense throughout the years.
My gf's family live in a place called Wawer, right on the edge of Warsaw. At Christmas time it was also the anniversary of this massacre from the second world war. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wawer_massacre It was very moving being there on the memorial day.
Also, what seems to get mentioned very little is the amount of Poles who fought for us, particularly in the RAF.

But the music I think detracted from the idea of a city gone silent to the sound of a siren.
