FFS. I have mailed him 3 or 4 times offering bloody money, COLD HARD CASH as I said I was grateful for the space and the setup, and was more than willing to pay to keep my files there. I never got a response, I know it was free, but A wee bit of warning would have been nice. My profile looks like someone wanked a sack of RedXs all over it :(

Yeah.
His host were getting snotty about the bandwidth we were eating up.
If you need some space I've still got E3ta completely empty or you can use some space on b3tamail.

Cheers
I have a fair bit of internet shelf space myself, I admit I was lazy and liked the auto scripty thing on B3tards.

Yeah it was free, but still, it's a service - I think a warning should have been sent out
Hopefully none of the people he has pissed off were the same ones who paid out donations when everyone rallied round a few months back.

If you just rehost the pictures under the same filename it will pick them up again...
No good for anything that you've lost, but if you've still got the pics then at least you don't have to faff about with all the code again...

but I know the first few dozen pics from my newbie days, came off my old (and late lamented) works portable hardrive, so have gone the way of the dodo.

Aye I've lost a few from back in the day as well...
But they will almost certainly be rubbish...
To be fair to them it only says they'll hang on to them for a year.
Bit bloody summary though IMHO.

For good?
Bollocks. I just started putting all my pics in there so i can pearoast them with relative ease - no more code malarkey...
I know I've probably lost at least a couple of my early B3ta pics in this.

Funnily enough....
I had bookmarked your b3tans page last night. Following zelter's instructions here I was going to look at some of my favourite artists's back catalogue. I tried the internet archive using your page address but it didn't work. It does have the option to search all images on b3tards but that could be a bit of a mission.
At risk of showing my extreme ignorance of both my computer and teh interwebz, I'm on a Mac, would it cache an entire webpage?

From what robtoo posted last night
he didn't get much of a warning himself. A sudden email from DreamHost telling him he was using too much bandwidth and then a desperate scramble for alternative webspace.
But perhaps we should all feel free to bombard DreamHosts with complaints about the lack of warning *they* provide...

I love Marmite. I really do. No honestly ask anyone.
but having tried it as a drink (like Bovril), I hated it. I can only imagine that tea or coffee drunk from that mug would taste the same. So have a Does Not Want from me. Good-day sir!

Cadbury's and Marmite should get together to invent the Cadbury's Marmite Egg!
Now that's worth dipping your toast in.
Note to board: I expect this shopped within the hour as a prototype - I have a meeting with the directors of Marmite and Cadbury set up for this afternoon.
I wonder if we could bioengineer chickens to lay them directly and cut out Cadbury's. hmmmm...

Just out of curiosity
was "all their bandwidth" less than what they promised at the start?
I've known a few people have their sites taken down when they were using less than the advertised amount.

I always wondered about b3tards,
how much does it cost you to keep up? There's no advertising on it so it can't be for free, but unless I'm absolutely witless you don't mention it anyway. I make heavy use of B3tards and I feel a bit guilty each time because all that bandwidth can't come for free.

you sure??
i highly doubt you'd have trouble getting that money back from your users -- i'd certainly be happy to chip in. seems rather unfair, you forking out over 120 dollars a year so that i can fill the internet with badly-photoshopped pictures and crude scribblings... although it is very much appreciated :)
