In the spider blog, things are hatching! I have a kitchen full of 30 or so baby spiders! This is one here, it's the size of a grain of sugar. www.tomkitching.co.uk/spider/spider.html
it's so funny when I'm round my friends and someone says "SPIDER!", everyone except me starts getting wary and avoiding the whole half of the room the spider is in whereas I just go and pick it up and throw it out the window :) (before my friend uses his katana on it...)

that's enough leg for anyone
sexeh spider! I'm not frightened at all, but my girlfriend is nearly disowning me over this spider business
(though that fast scuttle always freaked me out a bit when it was towards me) until I had a massive one cohabiting with me a few summers ago. I felt it was cruel to put it out, since it would probably die, but it was big enough for me to see its teeth and shit, and it enjoyed sitting upside down on my stairwell so I could see its predatory stance every time I went up and down the stairs.
I'll admit that the idea of hundreds of tiny spiders, soon to be bigger spiders, isn't my favourite idea in the world

...those xmas decorations that some hoity-toity store commissioned from somewhere in asia years back. they were supposed to be the typical santa and jesus crap but no-one remembered to tell the non-christian, non-western people who were making them all the details, so all these odd demonlike red glass bulbs were shipped and scared the pants off of people. they ended up being mostly destroyed until they caught on with the ironic and edgy set, who drove the price up significantly for those that remained.

claiming a serial killer after only three victims is a call for funds or staff, most likely. establish pattern kills of a notably transient population is unusual unless the police have compelling evidence.

it annoys me that they keep referring to these women as prostitutes
and not, simply, as women. if three men were found dead, we wouldn't keep referring to them as a builder, a doctor and an astronaut.
besides, prostitute is a verb. the noun is whore.
(urbane legendi have known the inexorable sadness of pencils,

agreed, it is a tad sexist and judgemental.
however, referring to them as pros does serve to alert other women working as pros that there may be someone stalking them, and therefore makes them potentially less likely to be killed.
if three male taxi drivers were murdered, there would be a hunt for the cabbie-killer.

but it's as if reporters and newsreaders are glad of the chance to say 'prostitute' on tv.
they're all like, "prostitute prostitute prostitute", and i'm all like "prostitute prostitute, prostitute prostitute", then he said "prostitute prostitute prostitute", and i told cassandra and she was all "prostitute prostitute prostitute".

It's probably jerky because blender, by default, accelerates towards the middle of movements.
For most recursive animations I'd turn that off, but I left in this time because it looks a bit like the motion of taking steps. Sort of. Though more like the motion of a participant in Knightmare, it's true.

I think I getcha...
...although blender is a new to me...
...the reference of a classic tv prog, though makes me think they used to use it....
...two questions therefore, as I'm ashamed to ask physics questions:
1. is the animation engine used by said prog-ram?
2. have your tried "Processing"?...[I think you'll like it (java-based language subset)?

1) Wikipedia says Knightmare was made using something called a "Spaceward Computer" and an Amiga 2000. I don't suppose they had such things as software tools, that sounds a bit sophisticated.
2) Curious, but java toys annoy me. Blender can be scripted with python, I might have a go at that later; and it's easy to make gifs with it, which could then be turned into flash files, potentially. It also does toon-style outline 3D, which I think has potential for both those purposes (small gif sizes, and easy for flash to take apart and figure out where the lines are).
