As an undergrad I used Modula-2, which was, um, interesting. As a postgrad I used Smalltalk-80. Then, when I started work, I used COBOL-74. Funny old world.

Relevance won in the end, but the sig madness did something very useful, too. Now we know that b3ta as a community can take control of specific image searches within a week (if people don't mind shuffling a few of their image names around). Imagine the good we could do *and* the fun we could have alerting people to a hoax image, for example: www.b3ta.com/links/238258

but the really difficult ones annoy me as I find I can't make the shapes properly and I hit duff notes. But what I really want to do is get some nice hansome bloke to show me how to put chords into something resembling music. But I have a strum every now and again and look at my guitar book in confusion 5ths, 6ths, 7ths etc. major minor chords blah blah - and then I read that some of the best guitar players are self taught.

It's a joke from the original sketch, where the social worker came to check on her baby,
and after ages of Vicky avoiding the subject in her usual vocal way, she finally admitted she'd swapped it for a Westlife CD, and when the social worker was shocked replied, 'I know, they're rubbish!', but due to her accent it sounded like 'RaRbish'.
