It's great that people are willing to look for new angles in photography
the one from that Russian photographer and his friends who get up on top of very high buildings and structures freaked me out. Mostly they do it without any safety equipment and they go to the very edge of a girder or something and photograph straight down ensuring the they get their feet and the girder in shot just to freak out people like me who does not enjoy heights - stunning photography though :D

I've been playing around with my new camera that I got myself for christmas. 12MP Canon -- it's a point-and-shoot, but i found an open-source firmware that allows me to do all of the nice raw images, time lapse, and manual overrides.
I've been playing a lot with manual noise reduction (shoot 16 shots raw, process as clean as possible then blend all 16 images into one virtually noise-free (even in the dark) image). I have been getting very sharp results. If you haven't tried it, do it NAO

Exactly - sort of. The definition of a tool is an object used by a person (or animal/entity) for a specific aim, end or purpose.
If it no longer meets this criteria then it is no longer a tool. The same with the hammer and tumble dryer, if they no longer hammer, or tumble dry then they're no longer hammers or tumble dryers.
it's possible to take the position that objects are defined solely by their present use. So a hammer in a toolbox is not a hammer, it only becomes a hammer when you hammer something with it.
(mofaha┐( ˘_˘)┌ ʅ(́◡◝)ʃ,
Sun 5 Feb 2012, 1:30,
archived)
I'd take it further still and say that the role of the object is actually defined by the opinion of the user/observer.
The un-used hammer in a toolbox is still a hammer because its owner KNOWS it can hammer when called upon. The rock becomes a hammer when the monkey realises it can hit other monkeys with it. It wasn't a hammer before then, and once the other enraged monkeys tear the hitty monkey apart it will cease to be a hammer.

I was never pretending to be someone else.
Except for the 10 seconds I was pretending to be someone else who had nabbed my name. I have perfectly good throwaway accounts if I wanted annonim- anom- anny- no one to know who I was.
