The bash will be officially starting between 4-5pm when the function room will be unlocked (there's always quite a lot to set up).
The auction normally starts at about 8-9pm
There will be snacky food laid on and lots of balloon animal balloon (as usual).
If you get there before it opens there are normally other b3tards in the downstairs bar.

after this year's holiday cost £200 more than the last one, i'm not going away next year. this means I CAN COME TO THE BASH!!!!!!!
any chance of a bed, ghosty?
( , Mon 12 Sep 2011, 19:00, Reply)
I shall be there, although my frog got put through the laundry after the last one and may not survive...
( , Thu 2 Jun 2011, 23:35, Reply)
Hopefully the venue will be a bit closer to where I live, so that I don't have to trek across London in the wee hours of the morning.
Not as much at least.
( , Tue 7 Jun 2011, 21:29, Reply)
Because I am the complete other side of London, and I am sure there will be plenty of others who are as well. So maybe sorting out a cab share or something will make life easier for everyone? And maybe for other people in other parts of London as well.

for the purpose of meeting lovely b3tans in fleshy form
( , Sun 18 Sep 2011, 20:30, Reply)
you'd better be there, i need someone to have an aftershock-drinking contest with!
( , Sun 18 Sep 2011, 21:40, Reply)
I haven't had aftershock in about 10 years, mind. I assume it still tastes like a mix of syrup, toothpaste and battery acid?
( , Wed 21 Sep 2011, 22:23, Reply)
the green one tastes of toilet duck.
( , Tue 27 Sep 2011, 23:42, Reply)
I only remember blue, red and green. I think I liked the red best.
( , Tue 4 Oct 2011, 23:44, Reply)
you can now also get orange and purple. the purple one is red and blue mixed, it's my favourite, except for the silver.

May i suggest booking a table, or even the private ski-lodge room thing at the bavarian beerhouse? The old street branch is biggest and best, and its near shoreditch, so we can go laugh at the Barleys after. Bit pricey, but its proper ace in there for a rowdy night out.

Just need to sort a bunch of things before I can give a 'yes' though

This fits into the conversation somehow.
PS: Do attend.

Last time he did that was when he was on his way from Southampton to New York in 1912! I think we know how that one turned out!

( , Wed 1 Feb 2012, 22:11, Reply)

Whatever you have availables sir :-)
( , Sat 18 Feb 2012, 1:56, Reply)
I'm expecting to see you wear the tshirt again:P
( , Tue 21 Feb 2012, 9:13, Reply)
And Mr Bunny if I may :) I've always wanted to attend a bash, and as this includes an auction for the kittehs, how can I resist?
( , Sun 19 Feb 2012, 15:31, Reply)
Reckon someone could get in some stickers, and have each person wear one with their b3ta name, and real name on? Its fucking confusing walking around trying to remember names such as 'drunken mademoseille heau', 'mstandot' and 'proboscisface', let alone their real names.
( , Wed 29 Feb 2012, 19:29, Reply)
so I'll just wear a badge saying #88083, then it'll be absolutely clear who I am
( , Thu 1 Mar 2012, 12:40, Reply)
The last four years of the London Bash have been the biggest and it tends to go well without them. Plus side, many bawwoon hanimal bawwoons!
( , Sun 4 Mar 2012, 16:45, Reply)
Ooh! Ooh! We did this at one of the early Birmingham Bashes - I distinctly remember nicking a load of those clip-on plastic wallets they use for business visitors from work...
I think it's a great idea, so I know who I'm touching up when I get really drunk.
( , Wed 7 Mar 2012, 12:27, Reply)
Even if they are lovely people, id rather talk to the folks i know from the board the most.
Im gonna get Taters tattooed on my forehead, so everyone knows who i am. I know who you are though! Went to one of your bashes, and bumped into you at Trigger once
( , Wed 7 Mar 2012, 14:26, Reply)
Like, you could carry a bag of potatoes. And I could... actually, maybe not.
( , Thu 8 Mar 2012, 20:59, Reply)
as i should have very purple hair by then
( , Sun 18 Mar 2012, 14:08, Reply)
I got the spelling of "Enzyme" wrong.
I hadn't even started drinking at that point.
( , Sat 17 Mar 2012, 20:27, Reply)
Had trouble remembering names once I've been introduced. In the drunken haze I may be introduced several times but I never forget.
( , Sun 13 May 2012, 9:59, Reply)
Thanks, Ghosty - I shall be there for funs and shouting!
( , Wed 7 Mar 2012, 12:25, Reply)
I'm so ugly I don't need no alibi!
I'z ugly!
( , Mon 5 Mar 2012, 10:43, Reply)
Strikingly handsome, like a mythical sun-bronzed Adonis, except with more hair and a history of pie abuse.
( , Fri 9 Mar 2012, 13:59, Reply)
When they handed out handsome they were striking. :P
( , Sat 10 Mar 2012, 16:09, Reply)
I would love to come along, if I am allowed... I am wee bit of a b3ta lurker thus far. Big ol' LDN toon tho eh? innnnnnnnit. blud. aaiii.
( , Tue 13 Mar 2012, 20:14, Reply)
Anyone else travelling from Manchester let me know. Enzyme what are your plans?
( , Mon 19 Mar 2012, 10:35, Reply)
Can't remember which. Early enough to be able to take in a museum or gallery before the bash.
Similarly for the Sunday back - I can't remember which train it is, but it'll be late enough to do something Londonny beforehand.
( , Mon 19 Mar 2012, 14:00, Reply)
I will happily wander round our fair city with you...plus I am quite good at navigating the tube
( , Sun 13 May 2012, 10:01, Reply)
Too earl to have plans yet though.
( , Wed 28 Mar 2012, 15:14, Reply)
But then it's a whole minefield of staying somewhere overnight, etc.
( , Sat 31 Mar 2012, 13:11, Reply)

Would be lovely to see some of you again, and meet some of you IRL for the first time!
( , Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:14, Reply)
Do you prefer the left or the right?
Sweetening the deal: I can guarantee you at least 2 pillows
( , Sun 13 May 2012, 10:02, Reply)
That's unusually late for a bash. And I have tickets to see Buzzcocks....
( , Sat 21 Apr 2012, 3:53, Reply)
I'm planning to head back the same night which would mean leaving aroudn 11-ish. Also it seems like a rather short amount of time to have a barbecue, do the live auction, watch a comedian and be sociable with each other...
( , Sat 21 Apr 2012, 14:01, Reply)
But am not a great fan of sitting around in pubs on my own. Anyone else for an earlier start...?
( , Sun 22 Apr 2012, 20:06, Reply)
I'll be there setting things up from about 4pm. THe youth hostel I run is 1 min down the road.

I'm a bit uncomfortable about walking into a room of strangers on my own :(
( , Thu 26 Apr 2012, 12:42, Reply)
I am fairly normal and not too scary, and I know a few of the people who will be there. Not sure what time I'll be arriving yet, when I have looked into trains I'll gaz you.
( , Thu 26 Apr 2012, 13:38, Reply)
Sorry but someone gazzed me just before this and looks like I will be meeting someone earlier in the day. Thanks for the offer anyway and I look forward to seeing you there :)

I am getting a lift on the Saturday morning as my boyfriend is going to see a friend in Epsom. He doesn't want to drive into London, where would be a good place for him to drop me off so I can get a train? We're coming from Leicestershire, so the route will be M1- M25
( , Thu 26 Apr 2012, 13:41, Reply)
It's on the East Midlands rail line into Kings Cross, and it's along the M1 just outside the M25. Or maybe Watford, which is just inside the M25 and I think you can get a tube from there.
( , Fri 27 Apr 2012, 9:52, Reply)
Watford Tube is in the middle of nowhere, miles from the town centre, and the Metropolitan line is sloooooow. Get the overground from Watford Junction instead.
Well, not you, obviously. Her.

( , Mon 30 Apr 2012, 11:24, Reply)
I suggest he goes to sutton instead.
( , Sun 6 May 2012, 19:08, Reply)
And is fine for getting a train straight into the centre of London.
From Epsom get a train to Victoria then it's a few stops on the District/Circle line to Earl's Court.
( , Mon 21 May 2012, 11:16, Reply)
It would be nice to meet a few more b3tans, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get away. If I can, would there be a bed available? I don't mind dorm rooms and so on.
( , Thu 26 Apr 2012, 17:22, Reply)
( , Tue 1 May 2012, 14:10, Reply)
You can always try Barkston Hostel which is really close too.
( , Sun 13 May 2012, 22:05, Reply)
but it looks like a great turn-out so how can I miss it? I'll see you all soon.
Don't need a room this time, thanks. Last tube is at 12.45am so still plenty of time for shennanigans.
( , Fri 4 May 2012, 19:20, Reply)
but won't be able to make it after all - hope you guys have a fantastic time, despite the lack of my luminous presence.

all be extremely drunk when you arrive too.
At least, that's the plan.

( , Mon 21 May 2012, 11:16, Reply)
Thanks to a series of unfortunate events in the last few days, I'm going to have to drop out of the bash. I'm gutted, I was really looking forward to seeing you all.
May 2012 sucks.
Yours in deep regret,
Dr. W.

Hope events can be dealt with and overcome. Good luck matey.
( , Tue 22 May 2012, 22:33, Reply)
But is the bash and auction are at the same time? If so should we wear carnations to find each other as I would imagine O'neill's in Earls Court is humongous.
From past experience outside the toilets is the best way to meet and greet
( , Tue 22 May 2012, 23:03, Reply)
I believe Mr Riverghost has a function room booked for us.
I've seen bigger pubs:

The bash auctions is an extension of the online one. All items that haven't gone and some which their creators wanted only sold at the bash as at the bash auction.
As lazygamer said we have the upstairs bar. It's nice and big (as there's normally about 50-60 of us) with loads of table, sofas etc.
The doors to the upstairs will be open at about 4-5pm as I have to get everything set up.
The auction normally starts about 8-9pm or when people start grumbling about why the auction hasn't started yet.
If people arrive early they tend start downstairs but I'll be running backwards and forwards all afternoon.
( , Wed 23 May 2012, 8:57, Reply)
But could you possibly run forwards then backwards as I have special needs. If you need help I can be there earlier to aid with running around.
( , Wed 23 May 2012, 23:42, Reply)
I'm going to try and get as much as I can done in the morning though.
