I fear that we've seen the end of their kind :( Looking at them all again recently though, they're pretty dreadful, but try telling that to a 9 year old lad who has the toys.

But the whole film is generally brilliant, it almost totally relies on dialogue which is amazing. sadly twattish students reduce it to catchphrase comedy and its far far better than that.
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 23:31, Reply)

The constant drinking and drug use seemed to to be nothing less than heroic at the time.
I revisited the film ten years later, and it was like watching a completely different movie. Far from being heroic, it had become utterly tragic - motivated not by joy as I had originally seen it, but by despair.

Whilst playing with a macro extensiontube on a dSLR I decided to attempt to do some filming to see if that would work. As you can see, I am crap at filming and cheap extention tubes deliver a shitty image. However, I did notice some tiny insect appearing to crawl from under a snail´s shell, wander about on the snail and then retreat under the shell. has anyone any idea what this insect is?
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 22:15, Reply)

You made me google parasites. Euurgh, I am so itchy right now.
No idea, but reminded me of the blue squelchy things from trap door.. Creepy, crawly, slimy things, that stick on to your skin... Horrid beasts with tentacles, that want to pull you in... Squirmy worms, slugs and snails, that rot there in a goo... They'll wait down there forever, 'till they get their hands on you... Don't you open that trapdoor, You're a fool if you dare
You need a nice little gorilla pod or similar, or post-prod image stabilisation for these shots.

Some knowledgable folk on there will give you an answer I expect. Could be any sort of invertebrate, may not be snail specific but maybe soil-living, and just happens to be on the snail. Well spotted though. Looks like your extension tubes have given you a very shallow depth of field, so makes the focussing difficult.

But the pattern seems to repeat randomly all over the whole image, might be some weirdness caused by the way it's been digitised or coded or something, hard to tell, really.

( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 22:46, Reply)

- some numbskulls take this sort of thing seriously, so here's how it isn't really a bootprint.
The wheels of the Opportunity Rover are ten inches wide. Compare the wheel prints to your pic's faint artefact.
Your pic's "boot print" is, by a rough estimate, only about half that size in length (a very small shoe), and a very faint impression.
The Rover - adjusting for Martian gravity - weighs about 140lb: around the weight of a slim adult on Earth. It spreads that weight over six wheels, and makes obvious, thick, clear tracks in the dust.
If a person wearing boots stood on the same surface, we'd see a much deeper, more defined, larger impression.
Me, I can't see anything more than a vaguely lozenge-shaped patch of dust among many others in a vast panorama.
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 23:04, Reply)

I distinctly remember the sales guy in the shop, who followed Michael eagerly, rubbing his hands together all the time. I'm pretty sure they weren't actually antiques but ultra-expensive reproductions, not that it really matters. He (Michael) asked Martin at one point if he liked some giant, gaudy vase - Bashir tactfully avoided saying it was a tacky piece of shit. Michael bought it, for something like $20,000 along with tons of equally vile baubles.
In the same program Martin bluntly asked Michael how much money he had, to which Michael admitted it was at least a billion dollars.
