I'm so glad this is back online. If you haven't seen it before, spare the time to watch the whole thing - if not - the race starts at 3:59

Irish family event descends into utter chaos, accompanied by exquisite drunk narration.

Like an episode of Father Ted that never was.

I've been trying to explain the facts of this to people, as the vast majority of them feel that their knowing absolutely bugger-all should be no impediment to loudly proclaiming that the scientists performing this research do not know what they're doing.

Ethical issues aside, the response to comments like that is that the experiments have to be performed on young animals whose visual systems are still developing. If you were doing it to humans it would have to be done on young children.

I work in an area related to this (though I don't do any experiments on animals). These experiments have been going on for decades. When Colin Blakemore took a stand on animal research in the 80s he was being persecuted for carrying out the precursors to these experiments.

This is a normal post "The British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) said it had uncovered evidence of the trials being undertaken by academics from Cardiff University."
I don't understand this. The scientists who perform these experiments actually do them in order to publish the results. How has the BUAV "uncovered evidence"? Do they mean that they look at articles which are published and see when people talk about testing on animals? It's hardly a secret.

And I didn't expect to be led into this enclosure by Terry who I assumed to be a friend, connected up to Adrian film maker's camera by wires. But I was cool. He was hurling a chicken at a ferocious and blood thirsty snow leopard to try and lure it towards the door. But I was cool. I only think I asked him once if it was safe

Note how i'm nearest the door :)

This is a normal post It's just a case of mass exposure and amazing things can happen
I was reading the Observer on the train on Sunday and read this: www.guardian.co.uk/business/2012/jul/21/global-elite-tax-offshore-economy

From time to time a pang of conscious overwhelms one or two of them which will pay for our conservation projects, but we could do with one of them now
(, Wed 25 Jul 2012, 0:07, Reply)
This is a normal post I read that too.
So few people could make such a massive difference to the world, everything crossed it works out for you. Give us a heads up when you are going to be on telly!

Some of those look like sebaceous gland cysts. Youtube is FULL of those types of videos.

As for the Guinea Worm, I remember seeing that first on the first red Nose day. I'd like to extract one of those from my leg, I think it would feel nice.
