does anyone care about things like file size any more? I haven't worried about it except for large video files in the tens of megs for a couple of years. everything else just works these days.
When we used to talk about 60k being good for the board, it was because people still used dialup connections in those days. Personally, I don't see the point in scan lines and crappy quality when it makes no difference to how the internet works any more.
Or are there still people out there who exerience everything seizing up when a 358k gif is on the board? Maybe I'm living in a little fantasy bubble where everyone is on broadband like me and the people I knock about with, but infact for loads of people the net is still painfully slow.

At home.
however I am at work. Where there are currently 100 users in my building, all connecting up to another 200 users in Derby. Bandwidth is precious.
The other ntoe on that is - the more bandwidth used by a particular URL, the more attention it brings. I know I can safely go on b3ta because, at present, the filesizes dont show up on the radar.
Flowerpot in Capetown keeps saying about how large file sizes are crippling her account.

I don't think it matters that
most people don't care. It is still unfair to ignore the guidelines whilst they still exist ( When I'm surfing b3ta on my xda I'm quite happy about the guidelines ). I'd prefer them to be changed ( not removed completely ) but I don't have the ear of the guys at the top. perhaps if you mentioned it though?

don't be a cock
if you want to post a better quality one, provide a link to it. i know plenty of people on here with capped internet and they would soon have to pay a lot of money for their service if the board was filled with cdc animations of 350k+

aha, but
you'd get your moneys worth if your 2gb limit was ALL on cdc's!
and just about to get an upgrade to 50MB so ner ( and you do get capped if you download more than 350MB during peak hours, they cut your bandwidth in half )

It's the reason why Bill Hicks never really made it big
People like Gallagher, Carrottop, and Seinfeld were hugely popular because they didn't challenge anyone to think. Breaking fruit with a hammer, making jokes by making a prop-based pun and asking questions like "What is it with plane/hospital/junk food?" and all the tards think "Oh yeh! I've eaten food!"
Part of the problem was also Bill's ambition to be a big-star, but the tv shows wouldn't air the majority of his jokes.
Edit: my writing has gone to fuck today, apologies for those who cannot understand.

he did do tv shows without the copious swearing
somewhere I've got a betamax tape with an episode of the comedy show "Paramount City" with Bill Hicks on, no swearing and his jokes come across just as well
(HakuOrange Whip? Orange Whip? Three Orange Whips.,

yes, this is true
but Letterman was the pinnacle for him, and he often had a lot of jokes cut from his sets on that, ending in his whole set being cut after his last letterman performance. The masses like to consume shite, originality is often despised at first.

lol! he's gay right, and he's holding his finger up in this picture, and gays don't have anywhere to put fingers unless it's like inside someone's foreskin and that's ming, so not there, but the other place, wait, gay girls have places to put their fingers in like in their front bums, wow, and so anyway, george micheal boy george is standing there with his finger in the picture and he's gay right, so gays (men gays) don't have anywhere to put their fingers, apart from one place, LOLOMFG.
I'm guessing he perhaps had his hand in his jacket pocket looking for his lighter.

but he's gay, so he was obviously doing some gay thing like I dunno he probably had someone's cock in his pocket or something or probably someone's bum in his pocket yeah that's it he carries bums around with him cos he's gay and his lighter is gay too
he had his finger in someone's bum inside his pocket. lol, now that is comedy. I wonder whose bum was in his pocket. I bet it was freddie mercury, I heard he's gay, cant think of any others. Mrs Slocum from that programme might be gay, but I think she could be a woman, so it's alright.
