I just tried this out with VLC and it worked, although it's not very user-friendly.
(For instance if you have "repeat current file" turned on, it endlessly converts the file until you press stop, resulting in a half-completed unplayable result. And the navigation interface is terrible. And I don't think it likes overwriting existing files, so you have to give each attempt a new name, or keep deleting the previous ones.)

Can't, though.
Audacity recognized the type of the file.
Importers supposedly supporting such files are:
FFmpeg-compatible files,
but none of them understood the file format.
(That might be because the WMAs which come with XP, which I tried it on, are "protected". Not sure if they are, or how I'd tell... maybe they're not protected, just too old.)

I still like hanging around, but I can't think of anything funny.
Also, I end up making stuff around midnight-1.00 am here, which is usually during the dead part of the UK afternoon. I'm too impatient to hang fire nutil the morning here to post it during the more active part of the day.

"your" album sounds nice from speakers
but it's terrible in headphones because of the wow, flutter and hiss...
but he certainly got a touch that i like and in most parts it's very much like rogΓ©...
the rogΓ© album also has its noise but i've become so used to it that for me it's an integrated part of the music...

Yeah I totally agree about the headphones.
It's actually a pretty dodgy recording. Like you with the noise though, after hearing it so many times it's become part of it.
