Nothing else I can really add to the description really. The bloke seems happy to do this before the usual cries of 'RACIST' or whatever.

Even if used ironically: you still sounds like Jim Davidson, and need a hefty ballsac-kicking.
( , Fri 2 Jul 2010, 14:48, Reply)

Describing something using language that specifically avoids terms found by some to be perjorative is absolutely the way it should be done. The guy does look of African descent to me. Does he look Nordic to you?
It in no way impinges on the man in the video, is not a flaw in the describer, and in fact makes me think you don't even know who Jim Davidson is, if you think the above is offensive.
Pick your fights. This one isn't one of them.
( , Fri 2 Jul 2010, 16:46, Reply)

Firstly, apologies for the tone, I came across as boorish & spoiling for a fight; when it was meant as robust b3ta banter: Pissflaps (a /links stalwart) often takes the same tone.
However, the chap's ethnicity is in no way pertinent to the video, so to use such a deliberately atatvistic term to reference his ethnic origin is trolling.
Again, apologies for tone; not content.
( , Sat 3 Jul 2010, 11:58, Reply)

phrase "A gentleman of african descent" is that it now sounds weirdly clumsy and dated - and thus a little patronising. So, more 1980s Ben Elton than Jim Davidson.
It looks like Pissflaps is tying himself up in knots worrying about saying the right thing, but he's hardly a cunt for that.

Not wanting travellers squatting on your land is racism? How so?
Do you mean by the process of repeated inbreeding they are some how a different race? They mostly look pretty white to me. Ugly as fuck and as thick as pig shit, but white still the same.
Or is this guy only preventing travellers from evacuating their bowels over his land whilst allowing black people and those of an asian persuasion to pinch one off in his rhodedendrons? That would surely be discrimination! Outrageous!
I guess the owner of this site has never experienced the delight of hosting one of these communities in their town or village.

Some of them that they felt the need to pull in before completely passing him.
Happens every day. He needs to ride further out in the lane to stop it.
( , Fri 2 Jul 2010, 10:42, Reply)

lane is practically asking for that to happen.
Needs to cycle faster too.
( , Fri 2 Jul 2010, 11:00, Reply)

slowing down to enter the bus lane behind the cyclist? holding up everyone behind them, creating traffic, stopping the flow of traffic....
cars behind him, will put their foot-down and overtake...probably hitting a cyclist every now and then.
rather than using the ENGINE to get ahead?
i think the buses should fit roman style spinning blades to their wheels and get closer.
( , Fri 2 Jul 2010, 11:02, Reply)

I think well over 50% of them clips were down to the cyclist being a cock. I'm sure a reciprical video made by city bus drivers of the stupid irresponsible shit cyclists get up to would be a bit more eye-opening.

( , Fri 2 Jul 2010, 11:11, Reply)

Also; hello fellow Bristolian!
As someone who regularly walks across town rather than using the bus, and who is just getting back in to cycling I wholeheartedly agree.
When did riding on the pavement get to be acceptable, if not 'the norm'?
E: well, the music's good, but it's so distorted!
( , Fri 2 Jul 2010, 11:33, Reply)

Agree completely- my cycle is almost 4 miles each way. I can now do this completely on cyclepaths/designated shared paths (apart from the 10m between the Arnolfini & Prince St bridge).
Surely, with all this money being pumped into cycle-routes you'd think it'd encourage better cycling, not worse. And yet Bristol's got the most pious, reactionary, chip-heavy-shouldered cyclists I've come across.

I would argue that the use of light is poor (she's way too dark for the scene, needs more bounce light, ideally filtered through the inflatables) and the scene needs some major shopping to take out all the crap like the handles on the inflatables, bad reflections and things in the water.
I can see what they wanted to achieve, but its like this is just the start of what could be a good picture.
