There was a Scouse Beefeater at the tower who would feed the ravens tidbits at lunchtime.
After a while, one of the ravens started going up to kids and scaring them by saying "do you want some?" in a course Scouse accent, imitating what the Beefeater had said to it.
I really hope this was true.

As the entire vote dropped off so rapidly following Tony Blair getting in and letting people down, I suspect Russell Brand's view that no parties speak for them is closer than the "young people aren't interested in politics" theory.

you are unable to move, as a small yellow minion has tied you down.
Your face starts to be slapped by the hair on a butt cheek.

Eventually you are reverse-pooped into a bum hole.
You die, Bond, you die.
What is the sound of one butt cheek clapping?

But worst of all is lackadaisical attitude and commitment toward hair color.
But these things, dress, sofa taste, hair color commitment, can be managed. That is what six-figure income fixes automatically. Or should So get to twerking.
One time at Brekenridge I said to my dad, is it just me imagining, or is it the ski-clothing, or is everyone who skis gorgeous? It seems always an inordinate percentage of gorgeous people on the slopes. Dad answered that it is self-selecting, everyone has money, sufficient to have their teeth fixed, their hair dressed and cut properly, clothing chosen carefully, good grooming habits, relatively good taste generally. I go, "oh."

el Reg has been covering this story too
The general opinion appears to be that it's a bit of a rum do. Possibly just a patent grab.
The main question is why are LM going for outside investment for this? They clearly have the capacity to fund it on an internal R&D budget.

(
benito vaselini no not that one, Thu 16 Oct 2014, 15:39,

The patent aspect worries me a little, too.
Given the social good it'd generate, there'd be a very good reason to abandon the prevailing IP model - but that'd make it unattractive to investors.
It looks like the sort of thing where an Impact Fund would be useful: essentially, the UN would pay Lockheed some agreed figure in lieu of profits, in return for which they would make the design freely available to the market.
(
Enzyme is powered by sunlight, Thu 16 Oct 2014, 15:46,

Does the UN do that sort of thing?
(
benito vaselini no not that one, Thu 16 Oct 2014, 15:50,

Nope.
But there's all kinds of models for reforming IP for the public good that suggest (say) countries, or the UN, or the WHO contributing to a global fund, which would then be able to incentivise and then buy out certain innovations pro bono publico.

I learnt earlier today felines were part of the war effort in WW1
half a million of them. People could take their beloved moggy and donate them for a shilling as part of the war effort and their cat would be used to control vermin and pests in British supply depots. At one point the Americans even joined in and started sending us their cats.
I read this in Rolf Harris's Beastly Behaviour which I was glancing at whilst on the bog earlier.
So less of the CaC jibes please. Our heroic feline friends helped fight the Hun.
