Just watched it for the first time in years. What a fucking movie! A story every bit as good as blade runner etc, yet between arnie and paul verhoven they managed to fuck it up so bad it becomes sort of a shlock-schlience-fiction. Great stuff and worth watching again, it really is a laugh a minute.

the woman downstairs had really bad epilepsy. Often she'd have a fit then lay on the ground and bang her head repeatedly on the floor. It was a dull rhythmic thud of despair.
It's almost precisely the same sound, and for all I know the same technique, as the drum track in most White Stripes music.
I think some of their songs are ok in terms of writing ability, but the basic inability of the drummer and the horrible drum production renders them unlistenable for me.

As big a cliche as the old 'Radiohead are depressing' nonsence. If the White Stripes had an immense, complex drum track, it would ruin their simplicity. They don't want to sound like Tool or Mars Volta.

and an often-repeated truth. She really is an awful drummer.
Simplicity does not equate to inability, and I'm very clear in my own mind which of those two qualities her drumming possesses.

robocop
a cop robot

party machine
all cop

ed 209
cant get up the stairs
what fucking loser
designed its fucking feet
heres another one im on fire now:
i got a jet pack

but no one liked
a robot
cop
that could fly
it was a shit idea
one more then:
robocop
going to the shop
to get his din dins
There once was a cop from Detroit,
who was built by the OCP to exploit.
They said this place is so shitty,
lets clean it up and call it Delta City,
Robocop the hero of Detroit.
Death a response to W.B Yeats
Nor dread nor hope attend
A dying animal;
A man awaits his end
Dreading and hoping all;
Many times he died,
Many times rose again.
A great man in his pride
Confronting murderous men
Casts derision upon
Supersession of breath;
He knows death to the bone
Man has created death.
And OCD has created me to sort out this mess.
if a poem is a machine, it’s an animal too. Depending on your stance:
an animal with a machine skeleton (say like Steve Austin, the bionic man)
or a machine shell with an animal heart (say like me- robocop).
being robocop
was great
the best weapons
cool visor thermal vision
my armour titanium
i upheld the law
my real name alex j.murphy
he robocop story: the baddies chopped me up
shot me in the brain
ocd made me into a robot
it was well fucking good
then i got shot up
but i ate some babyfood and took my helmet off
then i got better
and melted a guy with some acid
in robocop two i got chopped up
ocd made me into a crap robot
i talked crap all the time
there was a police strike
and i electricuted myself
then i was better
i had a fight with a rock hard robot
i ripped out his brain
then i got a jet pack
and flew around detroit
but no one liked it
now i live in a submarine
and write peoms
they are really good
robocop
where does the babyfood come out
my robot arse
robotcop
robotcop
takes ages to draw his fucking gun
robotcop
robotcop
he cant fucking run

but i've eaten too many & feel a bit queasy

can be very easy or very hard depending upon what style you want to achieve but anime hair is pretty straight forwards, just building up shades following the natural curves then adding some sheen and shadow as I have done simply here.

As always the best way is to follow a number of tutorials and pick up other people's technique. Google for tuts, there are millions.
www.biorust.com/tutorials/detail/148/en/
P.S. if I may? When adding shadow to areas, especially on skin, you might want to create a selection area around the shade first ( comic book artists call this a frisket ) then feather the edges slightly ( more the bigger resolution your image is ) then paint or burn your shading in the selection. This will soften your edges and also if you do nothing else after each brush strok you can go to edit in the toolbar and fade what you have just don by up to 100% and this can make all the difference.

I didn't particularly like the shade in the face either (looks more like he didn't shave for a while) so I'll have a play with what you suggested. The rest is just black-to-transparent gradients put over the colours.
