Scousers using the Beatles as an excuse to be proud of Liverpool
is rather like English football fans using 1966 as a reason to be proud of the English football team. ie, A bit tired and overused.

it's all down to differing taste.
aside from 'Walrus' the Beatles have done fuck all to get me excited about their music. I prefer Lennon's solo stuff, but it's still not a regular thing on my playlist
(

the beatles have a few songs i like
and i respect what they accomplished but it doesn't engage me really. not like bowie. when if your mood is right and you put on Diamond Dogs, you can feel thousands of electric shocks on your skin from just how incredible the album is. in fact i think i need to listen to that now

I agree that the songs have not all faired well enough to be held in such high regard
but you have to appreciate that they get bummed and played to death and they don't really resonate so very well today BUT I think music today would be very different if we hadn't had them AND if you get a couple of albums (mostly the later stuff) and listen to them through they're actually very very very good. I also like Lennon's solo stuff, but find it so filled with hypocrisy that it fills me with rage

Oh, and
If you took time lapse photography over the month, you might set it at 7.25 days or something, then the planet would actually have the same bit facing the moon all the time. My only complaint is that the orbit of the moon seems to be at 90 degrees to the plane of orbit of the sun, as the sun must be directly behind the observer for the planet to be constantly lit up. Which is absurd.

well, happy belated.
as others mentioned, some of those people are still about. if you run a search for them you can add them as friends (thus having their recent work show up on your friends' page) or send them a note via their profiles. those features may not have been on board last time you were here. catch up - i'm sure you were missed.

TOMFOOLERIES!
Click for bigger (238KB) Hey everyone, long time lurker but new poster, thought I'd start things off with a bit of that ol' digital art tomfoolery that's apparently all the rage these days. What do you fine people think? If the tomfoolery is not in your taste or interest, what sort of music is?
