I fail to see your point there.
Why is bathing in waste relevant to the emission of steam?

Did that one.
(
Mu Dinofiddler ,

Yes, the waste products are nasty, but they're concentrated and handled with utmost caution.
Batteries are safe, but their contents aren't.
(
Ttssattsr ,
Thu 17 Jun 2010, 14:17,

Battery acid isn't radioactive, and won't last for (some very large amount) of years.
(
Mu Dinofiddler ,
Thu 17 Jun 2010, 14:19,

Of course, but going back to my point, waste material from fission is dealt with in the most controlled way possible.
Once again, I completely fail to see what point you're attempting to make against nuclear power here. Don't thermal power plant stations have waste?
(
Ttssattsr ,
Thu 17 Jun 2010, 14:23,
archived )
Thermal power plants? Solar, nuclear, gas, coal and biomass plants all use heat to produce energy.
You might have to be more specific about that. The point with the picture is that eDF are a big power company with many nuclear and fossil fuel plants trying to pass themselves off as green by building putting a minisucle amount of their resources into renewable energy in order to claim government grants.
(
Mu Dinofiddler ,
Thu 17 Jun 2010, 14:28,

Thorium reactors or GTFO.
Christ knows why we're not using them. No fuel refinement, short-lived waste, masses more of the stuff than U-235.
(
Colonel Boris "...a desperate Buzzfeed imitation..." ,
Thu 17 Jun 2010, 14:33,

No refinement at all?
Does the stuff just lie around in chunks? There has to be SOME refinement, surely.
(
Mu Dinofiddler ,
Thu 17 Jun 2010, 14:36,
archived )
I don't care about EDF, I care about people making baseless and incorrect assumptions with regards to the nuclear power industry.
Using examples like Chernobyl as a synonym for all that's wrong with nuclear fission is wrong and is a comparison made with absolutely no knowledge of the disaster at all. I know you didn't make that connection and I'm glad. The simple fact of the matter is that the deaths attributed to accidents within the nuclear power field is minimal in regard to the deaths and damage caused by coal, oil and gas burning plants. Rant rant I'm going to make some ice brb.

no they aren't
many terminal storage sites which were deemed safe some decades ago (determined by companies which profit from storing nuclear waste for politicians who profit from providing them with public contracts) proved to be leaking 'a bit' under recent inspection. into the ground water, no less. which people drink, irrigate fields with, etc... hardly 'utmost caution'.

Hi, ignore the moaning fuckers and just save it as a .jpg next time, holmes.
.jpgs are for photos/lots of gradients, .gifs are for block colours, and .pngs are for anti aliased transparency or when you don't want mspaint to compress your .gif.
