But you could export it from flash as a .mov, then open that in image ready (every 3rd frame or something) and optimise there.

I render each frame as a BMP, then load this folder as an animation into ImageReady, then set a background layer and then go through each frame and delete all the bits that are the same as the background.
It can be quite effective - this one was 200 frames!
But it takes forever
still... its not like I have a life or anything anymore

FACT.
I am really struggling with flash, adding preloaders and making a simple fucking button that will open a web-page.
I have done the animation, which is ok for a first attempt. But adding the preloader and stuff now is a fucking pain in the ass.
Is there a kind soul here who could add it for me and then let me have the files back so that I can dissect it to see what I've done wrong.
For the animation I have done (a crap one) this REALLY has taken far too many days.

put this in the first frame of your movie and it'll do the job nicely.
Don't forget to change the graphics though!
www.newgrounds.com/flash/NewgroundsPreLoader.fla
To make buttons do stuff:
Create a button,
put it on your stage (the bit where you make the movie in your main timeline)
select the button
in the actionscript menu ( press f9 to bring it up) in one of the top folders is a thing called 'getURL'
double click that then type the address you want to get into the obvious boxes.
Bob's your father's brother.

I was actually just telling someone else about the very same thing who'd emailed me from my site so I already had the link to hand.
It's got some instructions with it, but basically you open the file, copy the one movieclip from the first frame and put it in the first frame of your own movie. If you then click into it and cut out the Newgrounds pic you've got a handy little movie clip that you can reuse with no coding needed whenever you make something in Flash.

First, they decided that camtasia/flash would not be as innovative, or useful, as doing them in powerpoint (the fuckers, I hate them, I hate them so much), and now they hhave decided, for reasons that are beyond my comprehension, that me using prtscreen and then processing through imageready is not suitable, and I should scrap everything and start again with Snagit.
