Sorry for the pearoast folks, but I've a question:
What's the best way to search through the archives for an old post? I've tried using the search engine on the site, but it always seems to come up with an error message?
Help is appreciated!:)

www.glassco.cx/ to search the board from january 04,
anything earlier should appear in a site search via google

tells you the search is down, and gives you the URL you need to search b3ta through google.
did you not try reading the error message, or do you assume they're all cosmetic?

Hence the laboured explanation below.

the search worked just fine.
Then the board got to the scale it is now (nearly three million posts) and Cal's code gave out. Rob was appealing a while ago for someone with a real search engine to help out... I take it no offers yet!
A lot of the archive is actually on Google's index. But no promises. Try using Google's "site: syntax", for example: Google for
marmot site:b3ta.com
and you'll get a bunch of b3ta archive posts relating to marmots.
