One of the Chinese research leaders in the department has the whole 'l' and 'r' thing pat with one exception. She keeps calling the master's student 'Barballa'... And why the hell do Germans keep pronouncing the English 'v' sound as a 'w', when in theory it should pose a problem as they don't have a 'w' sound, but heavily use a 'v'? My mind is wondering, isn't it?

I've not played either online
but DOW2 gets very samey after a while. It's the same maps over just adding more units as you level.
I'm a TW fanboy but this one is particularly good. The sea battles are supers ( even if they did lift it straight from Pirates and Tortuga ) Not much into it yet but very much enjoying the world campaign and I'm thinking of taking a look at the Americas campaign ( which goes from Jamestown landing to independence )
(Pasanonic's been known to cause insanity in laboratory mice,

sounds interesting. i've only really played medieval TW 2 any extent.
i'll have to pop down the shops later and have a look which appeals to me most. how do you mean the sea battles are like pirates? surely they're not so arcadey? that's the feature i'm most interested to see how they execute
(Tom OBedlamI have control of a tank,

no they are superb in visuals
but the gameplay is just the same ( not that you could alter a cannon led sea battle much ) Also I meant the last Pirates, not the original.

yeah.
This is just a shot from the sea battle tutorial ( quickest way for me to get a screenie ) but in play you can have huge fleets and control each unit in the same way you do the land battles. And yeah. Standard pirates fayre. Ball for the hul, chain for the sails and rig with grap to take down the crew. You can also board a ship and fight hand to hand if you have slowed her down enough to get the grappling hooks on. That's great, you get the crew singing from the yards like Errol Flynn :)

chicken little is a children's parable about a chick who runs about upsetting the farm animals saying "the sky is falling" after being hit on the noggin by an acorn. ( or something, I've not read that since I had the ladybird book when I was about 6 ).

I think you're wrong there.
None of the people who have commented here have said it was bad. I would much rather they try and make new films than the abomination of remaking classics over and over.
that's the whole point of the story. It tells itself in the comic by means of 'flashback' so I'm not sure that 'put up with' is a good term as it would be expected and impossible to tell the story without.
(Pasanonic's been known to cause insanity in laboratory mice,

indeed, it's a part of the story
but in adapting it for the movie, they could have cut it to under 90 minutes of backstory. It would have felt more suited to a cinema audience then, and could have shaved off a good 15 minutes of the running time.

Typical non-comic fan review.
The comic used a lot of framing / scene change devices that were lifted directly from cinema, which were unused in comics previously - in some ways making his point moot. In many ways I felt like the comic was sourced from a movie, and not the other way around.

I don't know. It is all well and good saying that the styling was ripped from cinema, but that doesn't mean that it will work put straight into a film.
It isn`t perfect cinema to be sure - but it works a helluva lot better than either 300 or sin city, due largely to the way that cinematic devices were used in the comic. Made it seem more like it was ripped directly from the pages without interpretation - but it works, and, for the most part, keeps the fan boys happy. :)

redrawn so that the parts are individually able to be animated ( more moved to give depth of field and an experience of animation ) with a narrative and score. The narrative fails because it's read by one person and it just sounds ridiculous when he reads the female parts.
It's hard to explain but I enjoyed them on the whole as a lazy way to catch up on comics I'd not read for some time.
Also, the bit that was in the trailer with giant Dr Manhattan striding through Vietnam disintegrating people = awesome Ride of the Valkyries = awesome Both together = just silly

as I doubt I'll find anyone I know who wants to go and I don't do the cinema alone. I need someone to nudge me awake.
I have a much better German video downloaded so I am just about to rip the TS eng. audio from the CAM I watched, clean it up a bit then sync it up with the German CAM after I have given that some stronger value and contrast. I'll pop that on a private tracker later and if someone else does not release it first ( and I'm sure they will ) then I'll up it to demonoid.

Just need to wait acouple of days for Korean immigration to send me a number, then roll down to London to show my passport and get the final documents. I could be going this week if all goes to plan.
Last week, the school I was meant to be going to had a nightmare, and retracted my contract after I'd signed it, because the recession had crippled their application numbers, so they required fewer teachers. I was crushed, but fortunately this newer, better school has quickly snapped me up.

And I have absolutely no idea what it's on. It's this new lecturer they brought in from Yale or Stanford or something, and all the way through lectures it felt like we were just doing Micro 1 again. Then he presented a mock test last week and I'm not sure it was even in English.
And THEN I have a Chinese test the following day, and that's definitely not in English. Sigh.
Yes, I get an apartment and plane tickets so it works out quite well.
I'm there for a year but I get the option to stay on longer if I want.

but only as a pale, bubblegum imitation of the source, and a simpleton's solution of "yay! lets unite in our hatred of someone slightly different to us without actually questioning it"
In reality, Dr M was created by the US and worked for them, it would only be a matter of minutes before the other countries were questioning what the US had done to him and how their creation had wiped out so many people, cue Russia launching all those stock piled missiles in anger. Plus, as a minor gripe, why did the comedian break down over the idea of letting off nukes? this was a guy who had shot pregnant girls and committed dozens of atrocities himself. It was the sight of the squid that cracked his melon, emphasising how hideous and mind blowing the thing was. blah blah blah, opinion etc etc. Still liked the film, it was like the 60s batman movie with more breaking bones and blue cock :D
