I can see him saying something like "can you comprehend just how big the universe is and just how insignificant you are?"
As it happens I work with a guy who looks not too dissimilar to Brian Cox. I would go as far as to say better looking.

Seeing as its quiet and all - ARTS!
I thought i'd show you a work in progress thingy im working on. Basically, its a tribute to Miss Mosh, one of my fave models. Can't decide on a pose. If you are familiar with her, she is good at doing quite striking, unusual poses - something im hoping to recreate here. The invisible things she'll be interacting with will probably be some naval related things, like ship railings, crates etc... Its still very early days, but im just trying to get the pose locked in. Any thoughts? Anyone recognise her likeness? I quite like the first pose, as its compact, enabling a closer view of her face. Click for bigger (39 kb)

I agree about the eyes, somehow more widely spaced than hers.
The bridge of her nose seems slightly narrower in the pics I've seen. Then again i've never used figure modelling s'ware.

I like that idea
I was going to do her interacting with a life ring somehow, or maybe something cheeky involving a porthole and a tentacle, but i dunno - miss mosh doesnt really do 'humourous' shoots, so it wouldnt be appropriate. A lot of her poses are quite athletic, and involve her being compressed or curled up somehow. cant really do those, as its a pain in the arse to model, and will obscure her lovely outfit. I like the first one, though the 2nd and 3rd one would be better in a 'scene' sense as i can have her leaning on / interacting with ship-like props.

indeed. It was almost a shame to put clothes on her - her body is a work of art.
She's one of the few models i know of where she seems more at ease naked than clothed! I bet she's rart filth.
Now youve seen her, do you think there's much of a likeness to my pic? Making stylised likenesses of people is hard.

you set yourself a challenge there
because she looks different in a few of the pics with heavier eye makeup. Maybe sligthly soften her features a tad? hard to say. And you got those pneumatic hips spot on my friend

She looks nicest when she has minimal / really pale makeup
as it goes with her almost white hair. I might tone it down a tad. Lighting will probably be redone too, so that will make a big difference.

On the one hand, I fucking hate it. On the other hand, I... well, I don't love it, I've just got used to its quirks enough that I don't think I'm edging towards a stroke any time I use it.
There's nothing wrong with GIMP that being entirely reconstructed by a different set of, ideally less arrogant and purblind, neckbeards wouldn't help. Even that utterly fucking stupid habit of scattering random windows to random locations around the screen (including the entertaining habit of always dropping the "rotate" dialogue down to the bottom of my screen so that it covers the "apply" button that it's developed) isn't something that kicking the developers repeatedly in the crotch while spitting "THIS IS A FUCKING SHIT UI" in their face wouldn't help.
We know this - people complain on the GIMP homepage that the UI is like some Lovecraftian nightmare with windows flying around like the eldritch tentacles of the dead Ancient One, and the ignorant neckbeards who develop the site ban them and comment "We're not changing the UI".
(discomeatsThis canoe,

oh god don't suggest it to them
New! GIMP v2.8.9 released. The UI is now DEPRECATED! All manipulations are now performed from the command-line. Do NOT contact us about the UI, it is NO LONGER ANY OF OUR CONCERN! Bitmapped images are nothing more than colour values in large arrays, and editing them on the command line is by far the most efficient method of manipulating them, leading to a smaller footprint and rapid workflow. Please do not email us concerning this change. YOU WILL BE BANNED.
