Look for the bare necessities The simple bare necessities Forget about your worries and your strife I mean the bare necessities Old Mother Nature's recipes That brings the bare necessities of life Wherever I wander, wherever I roam I couldn't be fonder of my big home The bees are buzzin' in the tree To make some honey just for me When you look under the rocks and plants And take a glance at the fancy ants Then maybe try a few The bare necessities of life will come to you They'll come to you! Look for the bare necessities The simple bare necessities Forget about your worries and your strife I mean the bare necessities That's why a bear can rest at ease With just the bare necessities of life Now when you pick a pawpaw Or a prickly pear And you prick a raw paw Next time beware Don't pick the prickly pear by the paw When you pick a pear Try to use the claw But you don't need to use the claw When you pick a pear of the big pawpaw Have I given you a clue ? The bare necessities of life will come to you They'll come to you! So just try and relax, yeah cool it Fall apart in my backyard 'Cause let me tell you something little britches If you act like that bee acts, uh uh You're working too hard And don't spend your time lookin' around For something you want that can't be found When you find out you can live without it And go along not thinkin' about it I'll tell you something true The bare necessities of life will come to you

Had my car towed by the DVLA.
They've put it in a place which is inaccessible without a car and expect me to go and get it today. No warning, no nothing. And I have to pay £200 to get it back.

Untaxed, yeah.
Entirely my fault, but it would have been nice to have: a) some warning b) some way of getting to the car c) not have to pay an extra £12 per day over a weekend which they're not even fucking open on.

I hate car tax.
My car is taxed but I forgot to change my home address when I moved so it was mailed to my old address. The new tenants are shit and just bin all my mail so I'm still driving around with an old tax disc. I'm totally gonna get towed one day =/

That's what I've been doing as well...
The other thing is that I've lost my V5 and my MOT certificate (read: ex-girlfriend now has a restraining order against her and therefore I can't contact her to get my stuff) so I have no way of retaxing it.

Yep, my fault.
But they're not making it very easy for me. I tried to go and get it this morning after a friend gave me a lift, but I spent an hour driving around and couldn't find the place. And they weren't answering the phone, and they're completely incompetent anyway.

I know this to be true
But the phrase is such a common one that even I'm in the habit of using it sometimes without thinking, and when I do realise I can never think of a suitable replacement- want to help me out? Also- Ironic. That gets used inappropriately all the time, but we mostly learn meanings from usage, and I struggle with that one too. I've looked it up many, many times, and still can't quite figure out proper context

the song 'Ironic' is not a good yard-stick for the word.
