well Mrs S cooked up a load
but she wasn't feeling well on Sunday and daughter went out Halloweening, so I ate alone, then yesterday I had another for my dinner and she still wasn't feeling well, and I've just had a third for my lunch. There's more left too. Glad I'm not at home tomorrow
I could skip the chicken and eat a plateful of all of those, to be honest :)
/also an interesting tip - to get really moist poultry meat when cooking, add lager to the roasting tray, and occasionally baste it over during it's time in the oven.
works a treat on chicken, pheasant etc. The meat stays moist and doesn't dry out

i suppose it depends on what's going on in your gif
this one here is pretty straight forward jokes wise, but i find for some, the low dither/colour option takes out too much detail a lot of the time. in that case i'll resort to optimizing it near the limit, but usually aim lower for the sake of others.

Yeah no point in destroying a decent animation for the sake of a few bytes or so
I think in general the 400k limit is often pushed closer to 450k in practice, but in the above animation there was no real need for 699k.

1: 2000ad/Fleetway/Rebellion claim complete ownership of 'Zenith', but Grant Morrison has filed legal papers denying their claim. 2: The books featured many older UK superheroes (or subtle variations) that Morrison believed were no longer in copyright. He was wrong. 3: In the early 90's, Eclipse comics threatened 2000ad with copyright infringement. They were the then "owners" of Marvelman/Miracleman & stated, quite rightly, that 'Zenith' had borrowed heavily from their character - which it later turned out that they didn't actually own. But that's a story for another day..
Tribs, what did the cursed earth story infringe on?
Though personally, I think claims of copyright infringement on characters and stories is on shaky ground unless it's a direct copy. Nothing new under the sun and all that.

I don't give a damn what he's said about women's sexual appetite.
What worries me the most is how fickle his "supporters" are. During the Jan Moir incident he was practically called a God, he could do NO wrong! Then he makes a public faux pas and shoves his foot in his mouth on a subject that he has no real authority about and then suddenly the homophobic and mental illness comments come gushing out from people who previous only gushed over his every wonderful word.
As for me I can take him or leave him, he was good in Black Adder and such but I never glorified him as a celebrity god who could do no wrong!
So all this proves is he's very human, just like all of us.
Let him be!

Take him or leave him...exactly right
He's a chronic flip-flopper and it's not just shades of opinion. He was all over the shop a few years ago doing an hilarious opinion pastiche about a 'portable data storage technology for information that is lightweight, durable, you can read it in the bath - it's a book" Geddit! and computer technology will never replace it.
Then he fell in love with Jonathan Ives' pretty computers and it was all different.
Let's not forget he is a certified fraud and menatlist too: not a very reliable authority on anything, despite an eye-wateringly expensive education.
sorry but I find those comments more offensive than anything Stephen Fry has ever said, or reportedly said.

Precisely, personally I've never paid much attention to his ramblings about his gadgets,
to me he's just another rich tosser telling everybody just how very rich and priviledged he is. Not that I bear him any ill-will but if I could afford an Apple Mac and replace all my software I would have done so a long time ago - yet my conscience keeps nagging me and telling me that Apple Mac's are no better than a well-specced PC, so why the need to throw away good money just to look trendy with the designer-set?

You only need to be rich if you feel the need to be trendy and get all the newest stuff to flash about in your trendy bars,
if you just want a nice simple stable mac just buy last years model or get one off eBay from someone with more money than sense who just got the trendy new version.
It usually takes about 6 months for Apple to iron out all the bugs, lower the price and make it a worth while investment anyway, so just leave it till then if you want one.
Avoid all the silly paper thin, super sleek, all packed in super shiny super compact stuff, it looks nice but IMO it's just for show (a laptop without a CD or hard drive for example, pah!), get the practical boxy stuff no one queues for, it's a lot cheaper and way more serviceable when something goes wrong. If you want something with all the functionality of an iPhone without the bill get a nokia 5800. Or a touchscreen Android.
And I can assure you finding downloads of Mac software floatin about free online isn't impossible, maybe a bit trickier than for a PC but you only need to find it once.
If ya don't wanna come across as a flashy tech nerd, don't be one, but don't reject all of it for fear of being accused as one, that's as bad as following the other sheep!
I'm not opposed the having an Apple Mac but it seems a big leap for a little upgrade
the only tempting thing is that all Apple Macs are 64-bit whereas most PCs are 32-bit and in order for me to upgraded my PC to 64-bit I could just load up a 64-bit OS but there would be no real benefit unless I changed the Motherboard to gain extra memory slots and fitted a newer faster Processor. But I see no real difference or real benefit by switching to Apple Mac.
(maidenis filmed before a live studio audience,

Fairy nuff. A lot of folks are!
I can see why, all this stupid overpriced shiny stuff and daft trendy tech nerds queuing around the block for days just for something they can impress their mates with, but I hate teh idea folks avoid ALL of it for the same reasons, just don't get involved in the silly season stuff and go for the older or more practical products, it's good shit and they last for years anyway!
*edit* Ah well you see I'm not a techie boy so can't answer that, but that's my main reason for liking macs, I don't need to know about or deal with what's under the bonnet, it just works and needs very little maintenance, practically none in fact, everything I add new adds itself, anything I remove removes itself, it rarely falls over or gets sick, and I love that!
Mind you my experience of PCs was about 10 years ago when Windows was it's former over bloated over active self, I'm told it's new (Mac OS style) self is way nicer and a lot less random and poorly, but I notice my friends with PCs still seem to be spending at least one weekend every other month re-jigging them to keep 'em running properly and stable, and they talk to one another like a couple of binars.
No I agree with you I've often thought of getting a last season's Mac from Ebay or such
just money is very tight at the moment, but I'm sure I'll have to move on soon before I'm caught completely on the wrong side of the the 32-bit / 64-bit gap.

putting a grid over the original picture, and taking a guess of the 'average' colour for each block, then putting the blob of colour on that grid position. Not sure avaerage is the right word, maybe the 'dominant' colour for that spot is more accurate. It's just manual pixelisation, I guess.
It doesn't work well on a small pic, but the more blobs you have, the better the effect.
