It struck me at first that there was nothing significant about his works, nothing that should affect any sane person.... It was a week later that I noticed the subtle, fluting whistling, almost below the level of perception, clearly not the product of human lips. It seemed to follow me. While I remained at home, it remained outside, and I seemed to be safe. When I went about my errands during the day, the whistling was present, but distant sounding, and it did not concern me greatly. At night... oh, at night, how different it was! I could never catch clear sight of the whistling entity, always it seemed to be behind a wall other than the one I looked over, and when I did that, the whistling changed, seeming to announce my presence, my curiosity... and then, worse, I would hear a response from afar, almost inaudible, but still there....

At nights, now, I remain inside. I hear the whistling. I still know not what it might bring; but it may yet be the end of man.

# I thought 2 had the best story, 4 had the best, most unsettling atmosphere and 3 played the best.

I liked 4 the best one, played so good.

# That's a whole different kettle of fish.
Enjoyed RE 4 and 5 muchly. Not bought 6 though, because lots of folks said it was a bit poo.

# Is 5 good then?
I may have to get that, not played it.
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 17:31, archived)
# didnt like it at first
but once i got used to the pre-historic controls and gameplay mechanics, i found it very polished and nicely made.
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 17:46, archived)
# 6 feels like it's trying to focus too much on action, and not enough on horror.
And the logo looks like someone giving a giraffe a blowjob.

# yeah - i saw it as that before the gaming blogs caught on to it
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 17:46, archived)
# I've heard a few people didn't like 4, I thought it was pretty good.
And I have to admit, I haven't played 3, though a lot of people say it's the best one.
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 17:25, archived)
# Homecoming was really good too.
Downpour was a bit shite though - mainly because of the un-scary enemies, environments and story.
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 17:29, archived)
# I was considering gettting Homecoming when it came out
and probably would have got it when I traded in Black Ops 2 the other day... but got both the Arkham games instead.
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 17:35, archived)
# you traded in black ops 2? You're always playing that when i see you on XBL
Or is that some other call of shooty game?

Im drowning in games at the mo. wanna try and finish some of them so i can trade em in for crysis 3 and tomb raider
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 17:48, archived)
# Mm, I think I'm pretty much done with Call of Duty now.
Not so much the games, which are all fairly similar, just the people that play it irritate me. I need to find a decent online shooter not plagued with idiot children and neckbeards.

And Tomb Raider is looking REALLY nice, and I'm not even that keen on the others in the series.
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 17:55, archived)
# 'neckbeards'
hahaha

I had good fun playing battlefield 3. Shits all over the COD games for scope and variety. Never really interacted with my teammate strangers though. I dont do the whole headset thing unless its with mates.

Im the same with the tomb raider games. I only had the 2nd one, and i didnt like it that much. It was just to show off the graphics on my PC at the time. The new one looks quite polished and gritty though.
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 17:58, archived)
# BF3 does look pretty good.
With the Endgame DLC coming out soon, I might put it on the list. It does seem like the sort of game where a little more teamwork is needed, whereas COD is every man for himself.

I think I had the second one on PS1... I really should dig it out, just to see if my opinion will have changed. I don't remember enjoying it at the time, but then again I was about 7-8. I preferred Crash Bandicoot and whatnot.
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 18:12, archived)
# I think I still have my ps2.
I might dust it off if I have, give it a whirl. I hope GTA 3 is still good
