its fell down the stairs, been carried in a trouser pocket, dropped from 3 feet onto concrete and covered in beer, yet it still works.
admittedly the aluminium case for it helps.
the hard drives are always well protected inside.
i'd recommend a rio mp3 player though over a creative.
