I've got the raffle money off today to the CST which was £120. It wouldn't have been much more unless Happytoast had the amazing idea of the auction.
As a result we're almost at the £1000 mark (included the extra donations that people have given over their bids).
I am completely gobsmacked my the generosity of people.
The highlight of the day for me was when Kerry won the framed Nina print in the raffle. I think everyone else were in the same place too from the tumultuous appause.
EDIT: I should point out to anyone reading that most charities £1000 would mean about 400-600 quid actually going to the cause. With the CST they have no posh headoffice in Oxford Street(they have an office over a barn) and no staffing costs as Dr. Moore works for free and has eight full time volenteers who work for free and live on site.
So out of the £1000s a £1000 will do to conservation, breeding projects or just feeding the cats that they've saved from zoos of private collections.

Urgh
Photoshop - I find - is rubbish to use for animation, especially the more recent versions. I only use it for turning already completed animation frames into a gif.
Flash is good, if you do have it, because you get the onion skin and can animate in multiple layers and it's pretty flexible. Then I usually export the finished cartoon as either an image sequence or avi movie then turn into a gif in Photoshop.
Alternatively draw the frames on paper (get a bit of glass to draw on, then shine a lamp up at it for cheap light box effect), then scan them in. Import the frames into photoshop, colour them in, touch them up, etc. and you have a gif.

Is that because...
You recognise that Steve Jobs has pushed multimedia on the web backwards by several years by deciding on behalf of his users that they cannot install the Flash player. Because of this decision, developers are forced to use inferior solutions that are less reliable, more difficult to develop and offer lower performance as the equivalent Flash element?
Therefore, we have essentially taken steps back and, as an exaggeration of that realisation, you chose a format that harks back to early days of the internet when low quality GIFs were commonplace.
Is that why? Is it?
