I was lied to about this.
When I was very young, probably just 4 or 5, I was in the butcher's and I started to wonder what happened to all the animals that they took the meat from. So I asked my mom about it, and she basically lied to me. She said the animals were ok and they could grow back anything that was taken from them. I don't suppose I believed that for very long, but it was enough to shut me up right then.

my kids (though we eat very little flesh at home) refer to everything as chicken. They know it's not, we know we know it's not, but I think it somehow makes them feel better about it so we just smile.

JUST WHAT IS THE POINT OF ALL THAT!
IT MUST BE SO UNCOMFORTABLE AND THEIR TINY LITTLE BALLS MUST GET REALLY COLD! I was in Florida a couple of years ago and the New York kids there on their vacations were all like this, but would actually have a belt on, but it would literally be half-way down their thighs with their sweaty 'shorts' entirely on display. And they wore towels on their head. Actual hand/bath towels! *asplodes*

I can't begin to tell you how much I'd suggest not using cdiscount for anything.
I bought my dad a TV recently, he sourced and chose it on CDiscount. It turned up, worked for 3 weeks than progressively failed. After contacting them numerous times ( and speaking to the same 2 norn Irish folk [I suspect they are a very small reseller operation] ) they insisted that they had no returns policy in place and that I must contact the manufacturer to arrange any kind of return/repair under warranty. This was despite me explaining the sale of goods act 1979 to them and that they have an explicit contract with me and I them, and only them. As such they have all responsibility to investigate any repair claim and if they can't prove that the fault is a result of misuse on our part that they are legally obliged to repair, replace or refund the item. So the dumbass girl just repeated the same old crap that I have to go to the manufacturer. So I asked for the number and was put on hold. 8 minutes later she came back with a number which I rang ( already knowing that the number was not complete) and got no connection. I rang back asking for the correct number and her colleague said "she's gone on a break but we don't know the number and she got that from Google so you'll have to Google it yourself. I'll get her to ring you back" I managed to speak with the manufacturer and currently the TV is in having it's mainboard replaced ( when it arrives ) by a Liverpool firm the manufacturer sent out. The girl from CDiscount rang me back at 9.30 in the evening trying to give me the same number that did not work that afternoon. Fucking amateurs operating illegally and I've lodged a complaint with trading standards about them.
