Would probably cause fewer problems in terms of dodgy images.. Also - b3ta! help! My work might be able to put some money towards the purchase of a netbook so I can work around campus. I can probably only squeeze £100 out of them and will have to supply the rest of the cash myself [but the, i'll get to keep the netbook for myself too] Netbook needs to be small but usable, and run Office [word/excel/powerpoint/outlook] and internet. I already have a main computer at home so it won't be a replacement PC. Does anyone know of any good brands/models or equally, any brands/models to steer clear of? Cheers!

It's a solid little machine. It uses an Intel Atom and has a gig of RAM, so it's definitely fast enough for word apps and net browsing and whatnot.
I believe it has a 160gb HDD too. The only real drawbacks is that your choice of OS is limited to GNU/Linux or XP, but that's the same with all Netbooks.

There's usually a few vendors like ebuyer, microdirect and tigerdirect which'll do what you want much cheaper than a major retailer.
Search around on Google, see what comes up.

Many terms and conditions of employment include don't look at pornography at work
(
Barbarossa is not my real name ,
Thu 1 Oct 2009, 14:16,

ooh beat me to it
although I can actually get away with viewing some pornography at work (part of my job, would you believe), I must choose the timing carefully as to ensure colleagues of a sensitive disposition are not within viewing distance.
(
Dixipoos Bye Bye Blackbird ,
Thu 1 Oct 2009, 14:19,
archived )
Indeed they
do. And, to avoid falling foul of them, all one has to do is not looking at porn at work. If b3ta is 'acceptable viewing' for the workplace in question, then it's not the employee's fault if someone posts something nsfw. If b3ta is not acceptable, then it's not acceptable porn or not. If some tit posts you porn by mail, then it might arguable be your fault from opening mail from someone who has nothing to do with your work, or it might be their fault for mailing you porn... what is clear is that it probably isn't Outlook's (or GMail's, or whoever's) fault. If my employer were wont to wield the sack hammer for the slightest hint of pr0n, I wouldn't look at b3ta at all... even when the compo is about 'fruit at war', some tosspot is bound to post tits. Then again, I might look for a better employer.

I'm confused by the Disney/Pixar business now. I thought Disney owned the Pixar name now, but all the creatives (like lassetar) had gone off to another company. So the new Pixar films, aren't actually made by Pixar but are released under that name. Or soemthing
(
Joe Scaramanga with a G-double-O-D vibration ,
Thu 1 Oct 2009, 13:40,

not in the slightest
Disney bought Pixar for a huuuuuuuuuge amount of cash and appointed John Lasseter as creative head of both companies. Which explains why Meet the Robinsons, Bolt and even the Tinkerbell movies have had a stroke of genius on them and the 2d Princess and the Frog looks like it may be a return to Disney glory days too. (and now with Disney absorbing Marvel too, Disney is possibly all of the win)

that's a great idea, and I also have a question
The image that first confronts you when you open that - of john cleese in 'silly walk' mode - does anyone know if there is a reasonable quality photo of that exact shot anywhere? I've been looking for a decent quality pic of that exact pose for age but to no avail, the website has just reminded me that I would like to find it, if it is out there. /google didn't prove particularly helpful. Actually, forget it, think I've found something :)
