just releived that there is finaly going to be a way out of all the morphine and pain that has blighted my life and got worse over the last year, hence me not being on here and also the depression didnt help.
got told in january that the surgeons wanted to put me through 4 or possibly 5 opperations using a shoulder blade and rib to rebuild and straighten the ankle, however over the last 8 operations i have had none has worked and i cant see these being any differant also therte is the added 2 years of operation recovery operation recovery cycle.
So after a decent chat to the consultant me and my wife decided the best way forward was to take the bugger off and be done with all the physical pain.
this would also remove the festering ulcer on the right side of my ankle that is a symptom of the osteomylitus and will not heal despite time in hospital on IV antibiotics.
So good thing alround and as an added bonus my socks will now last 2 days which is ggod

www.movies101.com/SOLDIERS.HTML
There is one interesting relationship in the film, and it is between Moore and young Joe Galloway (Barry Pepper), a journalist who hitches a ride into the battle site on the second day and records it all. Need we say that he is also the co-author of Moore's autobiography. In the film he tells Moore a wonderful story. Moore has asked him why he's a journalist and not a soldier. Galloway says that he comes from a long line of soldiers, including two great-grandfathers, who each lost a leg fighting on opposite sides in the Civil War. One lost his right leg and the other the left. They met by accident, after the war, in a shoe store in Galveston, Texas, and then by design met each year afterward, in the shoe store, to buy a pair of shoes and take home one shoe each.

Last year I completely fuckered my collarbone. 'Severely Comminuted Fracture' was the medical terminology, but I prefer 'fuckered'.
Anyway, before they put the big metal plate in my shoulder to hold everything in place as it healed, they had to physically re-align the two intact pieces of my clavicle. This wouldn't have been terribly bad if it wasn't for the fact that they had let the break sit loose for two weeks to see if by some miracle the bones would knit together without medical intervention. So when the time came for my surgery, the two splintered ends had already begun to heal themselves into stumps, which then required grinding down to lovely fresh bare bone and blood vessels.
The pain when I woke up from the surgery was hell. Easily the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life, and I've injured myself a lot. They ended up mainlining morphine into my arm from a big syringe until I'd reached the limit the hospital were permitted to give a patient. The pain subsided a bit, but not nearly as much as I hoped. Probably due to my history of rather enthusiastic and prolonged substance abuse, I had built up a pretty measurable tolerance to opioids and depressants which meant that the morphine did little more than take the edge off and make me feel really sick.
I'd have much rather just had some delicious pre-meds again :(

Also, the narcotics, while helpful in the short term can fool the body into ceasing to create it's own natural pain killer. Then, it takes more and more narcotics to do the trick until they simply cannot, leading to hyper-algesia, or super pain, as I like to call it.
I had taken so many narcotics that I ended up in screaming pain and nothing would relieve it. I was transported to hospital where they tried ever increasing doses of morphine, fentanyl, etc. Then they filled me with ketamine and that broke it. I had to get off the narcs ASAP and it was absolutely miserable, but I'm so glad I did it. Now, even though my physiology has not changed, exercise and medical cannabis have had me narc free and pain much reduced for almost 2 years.
Good luck, I understand how pain can take over your thoughts and life.

MRI and CT scans looked intrestingwith the tract of the ulcer showing rather nicely, and they found an unheald fracture from god knows when theu lending more weight for our decision .

Along with the parents who made up their 'illness' because they were too lazy to give them the slapping they needed, and too retarded to realise that their spawn were just obnoxious little shits. Also, the shrinks who came up with this fucking excuse in order to make more money. There is no such fucking thing as autism, and the sooner society as a whole wakes up to this fact and starts gassing 'autists', the better.
