To be honest with you,
thinking about it, it doesn't surprise me at all. As far as I am aware, you have never had the same problems with racism towards Asians in Australia that the UK has had. It still makes me laugh when I see Wog Boy on the tele :D
and if a politican or something used the terms 'paki' or 'wog' there would be a brewhaha in the papers. but in general use, if it's not meant to be offensive no offence is usually taken. Just like we call the english 'pommies', newzealanders 'kiwi' and american's 'yanks or sepos'
However, some people do use them as derogatory terms and there are a few which are considered taboo, such as nigger, slopey etc. even abo is becoming taboo.
I think probably sooner or later political correctness will slow down the terms paki, yank and pom.

Looking at those last three,
I would say the last 2 should go first, if they were to of course. The fact of the matter is, is that Paki is a contraction of Pakistani.
i don't see much wrong with the terms themselves, unless they are used as terms of racial villification rather than humour and that they are used in an appropriate manner, where the people around you aren't likely to take offence. One would not use the term 'you bet your cunthairs I did' upon receiving an obe...
Incidently other than convict what terms do the english have for aussies?

His typical feedback is "Sweet, savoury, citrus, mahogany, ivory, hint of iron, some sweat" in an unimaginably pretentious half-baked Australian accent.
Also I'm on board stats for the first time ever and my quote is disappointing.
As a nigger kike wop, I'm deeply offended by this.
(as a bit of context to the perpetually offended, this "I'll get you for this, you nigger kike wop." is a quote from the Man With Two Brains, which, if shown on british tv nowadays, will no doubt lead to a placard parade demanding the line be changed to "I'll get you for this, you naughty man")

People like FLowerpot
who live in South Africa and only gets 2gb of bandwidth a month, and has to pay for extra, only up to a maximum of 4gb possible. But yeah, I guess that is more inconsiderate than someone just taking a second to make a pic as small as it can be....
well, yes, but if everyone posted the filesize they wanted
the board load would be unfeasably large. But if someone makes a mistake (due to the poor wording of the faq) then I don't think they need a bollocking (not that that has happened here.)

I used B3tards...says 400k for images?
(TheSundaeLunchI'm a fucking shrub, alright?,
Tue 13 Jan 2009, 23:20,

Er....
For file size, 50k has always been a good target for a still image, but anything up to 100KB is acceptable. Likewise, animated gifs should be kept as small as possible, but never exceed 400 KB.
Not that I give that much of a fuck, you understand.
If you use b3ta's built in image hosting, you may upload any image up to around 400kb in file size, and the site will do any resizing work required for you. Animations are not optimisable - if they do not meet file size restrictions, they will be linked with a static image. Files larger than 400kb will be instantly rejected!
(TheSundaeLunchI'm a fucking shrub, alright?,
Tue 13 Jan 2009, 23:27,
archived)
yeah that's confusing. that's the size that can be uploaded to the host.
but not the size for posting directly on board, if you use the b3ta hosting it will resize the picture and put a link to the big version.

stop apologising, I don't think anyone's upset about it.
and the b3ta hosting seems to have gotten harder to find, there used to be a 'post new image link' under the 'my images' thing at the top of the page (cr3 changed it a couple of days ago and I can't see a post new link there any more, but this is possilbly because I am thick).
If you go to post new message, there's a link that says switch to image mode and you can upload from there.
