I sued and got dosh.
(, Thu 14 May 2009, 22:15, archived)
you should've made a shady out of court settlement
"20 unmarked pugs in a brief case by the fountain".
(, Thu 14 May 2009, 22:19, archived)
It was actually.
I said I wanted £3000 and they gave it to me :D

Basically my David Hasselhoff pic (also my Jeremy Beadle and a good few others up until 6 months ago) was the first result on Google images. Someone stole it and used it on the show for a kids gameshow thingy.

Was really weird how I found out as i work next door to the Nickelodeon offices and they were carting it out as I walked past and I started freaking out. man, talk about fate. The girl who made it thought I was nuts then went white when I asked to see her manager and then the MD. I had copyright on the image too. I got my work's legal department to come in with me :)
(, Thu 14 May 2009, 22:25, archived)

i abandoned my inventing after BMW came up with the same idea
that I had had 5 years previously
i was still in the research and development stage, so i didn't have a working prototype to base a patent application on. sad times :(

basically, this explains what i was trying to achieve www.gizmag.com/go/2766/
(, Thu 14 May 2009, 22:37, archived)
in fairness K, if they had the idea after you they would just spend you into
penury by letting it go to court and employing time-wasting tactics so you can't afford to take it further. A patent doesn't protect you from copying, it only allows you to sue someone if you can afford it.

/goddam Sega Saturn and N64 did me out of my great idea :-(
(, Thu 14 May 2009, 22:45, archived)
my system was similar to both BMW's and Citroen's
i'd sorted out the electrical side of it (two relays meaning hazards flash faster was the original prototype) but was still working on (and limited by my lack of technical knowledge and resources) the dynamic inertia side of it

oh well

Defying the question to the letter of the law ( but in the same spirit)
Anil Gupta used to frequent the same writers' forum / chat room on AOL as me. So when I saw two quite specific jokes from a piece of mine in a Christmas edition of Goodness Gracious Me I was highly suspicious. But look at it this way, either 'was nicked' but that means 'worth nicking' , or 'wasn't nicked, coincidence' which means 'you're on the right path if that kind of thing makes it to TV, son.

However these days I am an engineer so never mind.

I went to Chiquitos for lunch today.
I was so stuffed I've not eaten since, except for beer and peanuts.

I had the Chimmichangas with spicy chicken (I couldn't eat the beans, too much) then I got a hot fudge brownie sunday-ice cream thing.

Also, the decor at
www.chiquito.co.uk/
was most impressive for a chain restaurant in the UK.

That's it.

It may be possible that althegeordie has now overtaken Moohalaa in the "WHO REPLES TO JMG THE MOST" stakes.
I think this is 50% hero worship and 50% to do with Moohalaa not posting as much any more, mind.
Fair play.

Feel free to print this off and take it to your next internet b4sh.

Why do you always think I'm picking on you?
Just because you're from QOTW doesn't necessarily mean we're all always picking on you.
Now yes, you aren't as good as even the average /talk user, yet alone B3ta's champion JMG. But you really need to enter these conversations with less of a "gung-ho" attitude.

You should be delighted that I even reply.
