For panoramic multi-photos you need to lock the exposure and shutter for all the photos

Then each photo will be at the correct lightness levels

You can fix the overall exposure in Photoshop

but if you use auto settings then it will make stitching far harder.

Also you don't normally make a 360º panorama unless that's what you're specfically after and if you are you would take multiple exposure checks first and find the best average if you're really ambitious a HDR 360º by bracketting.

but because the camera wasn't absolutely level,the perspectives/barelling were too much to stitch together properly.Some day I might get a tilt-shift lens

It's all down to the pivot point (nodal point of the lens) of the camera

a lot of people simply mount it on a tripod and pan but the pivot point is therefore directly under the camera and will cause distortion. There are brackets that you can attach to the tripod to ensure the pivot point is directly under the lens and not the camera body.

at @ £100 I think I'll DIY one as its only 3 bits of metal.I had planned to use a spirit level against the lens front the next time, but all this will have to wait for the next summer trip to the lake district
