Thank you to everyone who voted for my CupBot animation, it was very lovely of you.
But I can't accept the prize of the HD-DVD player as I have nowhere to put it and can't afford
to buy more films in an entirely different format. So, I'm giving it away.

Inspired by all the complaining that compo's will only be won by those with expensive bits of software or "talent",
I have decided to redirect the HD-DVD player to whoever posts the best sob story as to why they should have won,
PLUS a still image of something nice and fluffy (to counter the horrific choice of Image Challenge this week!)

Post only in this thread please, I will pick a winner at 6pm UK time.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2007, 14:36, archived)
# My entry was "too clever" for the front page and lost millions of votes.
Probably.

Tell you what I just won an HD-DVD of a "very good" film. Keep the machine and you can have my DVD. But please post a grovelling reason why you should get it!

I never get any of the credit i deserve as an artist. all day people sneer at me and call me mean names because of my artistic talent and their lack thereof and i don't know. when will my works be appreciated by the general public? must they be post-hummus? should my death be my career launcher in the the foray of fine arts? whatever.

Further more, I've only got a VGA graphics card that supports 256 colours and due to my complex colour blindness 243 of these colours are indistinguishable to me.

If I were to win I'd use the HD laser to burn off the grime and correct my colour blindness.

Can't guarantee it though :)
There's also no guarantee that they'll accept it, and you'll be back to square one... but it was just an idea.

# well, it wouldn't be for me, it'd be for my dad.
he took the family to centre parks in the lake district the other week and for some reason whilst going down a water slide he managed to fuck up his ear drum, rendering him deaf in one side and unable to get out of bed for vomiting reasons. He'll be like that for a good 2 months.

He recently bought one of them fancy new TVs, but doesn't have any HD stuff to put on it. I reckon it'd make his christmas if by losing 50% of his audio his picture quality is 200% better.

and here's a picture i drew.

My post was one of the most original I saw in the compo. b3ta.com/board/7815584
Although it was quite simple I spent alot of time slaving away on all 3 versions with no regard for my partener and kids ..... violins, heartstrings, violins, heartstrings ..... my eyes have swelled up as a result of staying up far too late and staring at the eye fucking pictures I was creating.
After all that I posted my entry at about 3am, which is hardly an ideal time to be posting.
And here is the fluffiest picture I have done!

I say donate it to Prince as an apology for the truly awful way we implied he was a despicable little cunt who actually removed some ribs so he could be even further up his own arse - where he is likely to bump into those snivelling tossers who represent him.
Which of course isn't true.

I'm sure Prince could make good use of a HD-DVD player - if he watched himself in HD, he could see clearly just how talented and special he really is.

thank you.

well actually i wanted to join the contest, but because i have a tiresome job, it is hard for me to make something after hours. i also have a complete lack of talent and equipment.

that is all.

[EDIT] i missed the bit that said picture, but i swear i will give you the fluffiest picture you have ever seen. you see, i work in a pet store, and feed the baby parrots every day, and after they are fed, they fall asleep on top of each other. ironically, i was going to make some pictures today, but forgot the camera. 100% fact.

But I'm assuming that no b3tans are going to go out and kill the animals themselves, so I don't see the problem with recyling a picture for entertainment purposes...in the same way that if someone kills a cow for hamburger purposes, why not use its skin to make shoes and a coat?
