Many years ago we went on a school camp. About an hour after we set up and were settling in for the evening, there's a kaboooom! from a little distance away. A bunch of folks rush over to find...
* One group of guys has set up their tent in a clearing separate from the main group.
* They've set up a camp fire about 4 feet from the side of their tent.
* One of them has put a tin of baked beans on the fire
* The tin has gone Kaboooom!
* Super-heated baked beans have been flung into the sky
* Only-slightly-less-super-heated baked beans have come back done from the sky
* Said baked beans have rained down all over the tent
* Said baked beans have melted their way clear through the nylon tent fly and the tent roof
* Said tent is no longer waterproof
* It is now raining.

A while ago I posted this on /links pointing out it was humble old me that repaired that image from 1914 and a few others with a colleague.
The news coverage subsequently went ballistic and generated ZSL (and ultimately it's conservation efforts for wildlife) £2000 that Monday, and about £1000 a day for at least six weeks, and is still a healthy income generator.
That image of the tiger and bear cubs is still one of my favorites, and one of our top earners.
Today, as I was rummaging around in our photographic archives I came upon these lovely gems, obviously related to that image. I'm still working on repairing them, but they already look great:
