We could point you at the FAQ
Hello new person. Please read our FAQ. Cheers.
Can I post this great link that I found?
We are always happy to see new and cool content on the links board, but it's best to make sure we haven't seen it already by using the search feature. It can be a bit annoying when dozens of people all post a link to the same site on the same day (it does happen). The search page can always be reached from the 'search' link at the top of any messageboard.
If you have found a picture you absolutely have to share with the board, please host it on your own webspace, or post it as a link. Posting an image hosted on somebody else's web space is not a very polite thing to do and we hate it when people do it to us.
Oh... and please never try to claim somebody else's work as your own. You will almost certainly be found out and end up looking very silly if you do.

I think there is a much greater problem.
People looking at b3ta on their phones. If I looked at b3ta on my phone, I would rapidly accelerate the development of glaucoma. I will continue to support the destruction of smartphone user's online experience until I have enough income to afford an upgrade from my 10 year old sony ericsson. Thereafter, I reserve the right to be righteously miffed with 200k+ anims.

After I'd come, I realised it was 2MB. Please add my name to the list of signatories to this fail. I hope that by adding my name to the list, it will serve to further infuriate those who spend a lot of time and effort on a picture/anim, only to get a handful of comments. So, your idea to add 50% more page-weight, in one single animation
was all part of the plan?
( ,

Nah
The 4MB is an observation, this page is hardly light, so all the whining about mobile phones and stuff, well it has merit but its hardly a 10 fold increase.

anyone looking at b3ta on a mobile phone
is asking for fucking enormous data charges and frankly deserves what they get. but there are people on capped broadband and b3ta alone can use up quite a bit of that.
plus i tend to feel it's just simple reasonable manners to optimise something as far as possible. alas, they raised the file-size "limit" from an arbitrary 50k to an equally arbitrary 100k, so everyone posts pictures that are a WHOLE 100k big!!!! there's no craftsmanship anymore.

Cheers MoC!
I'd love to get an eight foot canvas and do the full thing. Problem is, where the hell can you fit an 8ft canvas, and I'd probably need a mortgage to cover the cost of the paint, brushes and canvas...

If I did it, it would have to be a perfect match for the original - namely one whole canvas
Although the original was just a photo that was painted over in areas and varnished to look like a painting.

Thanks, Q'! I still love acrylic as I find it perfect for super-detailed Wildlife stuff that I do... Oil is fantastic, though!

burning pitchfor...oh fuck it, I'm too tired. I drove through Derbyshire yesterday under what must have been the most apocalyptic thunder/rains storm I have EVER seen. It was 4 in the afternoon and almost night time black, and rain? Jeebus did it ever! I was a tiny bit scared And now today, I am tired.

Well, your question appears to be lacking in certain important respects.
There is a notable lack of punctuation, the grammar is rather poor and more significantly you appear to be a fucking troll. Close the door after you on the way out, would you?

Hello Mofaha from b3ta

But definitely not a windmill.

Yeah I got some a while back that looked and tasted exactly like a bulb of garlic.

Allow me to suggest the following:
something which looks and tastes exactly like a bulb of garlic is either
1) a bulb of garlic, or
2) some ginger root that isn't really concentrating
What do you think? I'm not saying it's a manifesto as such, but it's a start.
