# I hate the man.
A significant amount of the hate is also because it forces me to accept that the other Tories were right about something (ie, him - the eyes and all that).
(, Mon 6 Feb 2012, 11:57, archived)
# I voted for Blair. I wanted a change, and he seemed the face of honest socialism. Fairness and equality and an end to corruption I thought.
Within a week he had banned tobacco advertising in sport *yay* ...except to the man who bunged him a million quid.
He gave control to the Bank of England to set interest rates independent of political priorities *cheers* then deregulated the city so they could lend money to hillbillies and take their cut whilst said hillbillies default on the payments that support the pension funds of the workers.
Shortly thereafter he realises that Thatcher became more popular after a war, so backs the incompetent alcoholic stooge for Haliburton that led us into Iraq.
At least with the Tories you KNOW you're getting fucked. Tony didn't bother with a reacharound whilst ramming the country in the ass. I wouldn't piss in the cunt's throat if his lungs were on fire.
TL;DR maybe, but the man enrages me.
(, Mon 6 Feb 2012, 12:34, archived)
# the problem seems to be because
which ever establishment stooge you vote for, the establishment always gets in

it doesn't matter how each group seems to individually arrange the deckchairs on deck, if the same people are always steering the ship.

There was even a piece in the Guardian by Monbiot a while back about the 'corporation of london' and the ruling establishment elites within it and their complete unaccountability to the rest of this country and control over it(although it never went far enough but it at least talked about it). It seems absurd this group would allow any real threats to their power and the established structure . The appearance of democracy helps to keep us tamed.
(, Mon 6 Feb 2012, 12:45, archived)
# Mind you, we all eventually become part of the establishment...
Even the more radical B3tan will start posting in 400 pixel width eventually ;-)
(, Mon 6 Feb 2012, 13:30, archived)
# that was below the belt
you bitch!

EDIT: also I will say the old boys networks (and the spineless fucks that make it up) are a good way to decide who are a safe pair of hands and how far each candidate progresses up the political ladder.

Those shown most pliable and most aligned with the aims of the establishment seem to be favoured and progress fastest through the ranks, seemingly untouchable to scandal, they're also more highly rewarded for serving it

So I put a "This is a fan-based flash and in no way associated, blah, blah" on the front and put it back on my site: www.q4nobody.co.uk/simpsomaker.html Heard nothing since, so I made a version with music for Newgrounds: www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/390034

Which not only means I'm still not allowed to be a youtube partner (whatever that may mean), but I also have the threat of losing my whole account hanging over me, which would be a serious pain in the arse considering this stuff is my job now. We had an exhibition a few years ago based on Bad Taste. Ben drew a crude (in execution, not in nature) naked picture and then glued a torn picture from a magazine of Harvey's head on top. A lady emailed us (probably came via our Top Tips pages) saying it was disgusting what we did and we should remove it. We paid no attention until a couple of days later Jordan's people emailed us and threatened legal action unless we took it off the blog. but to be fair, that was simply because I used music without permission. On the '3 strikes' rule I was got by Sam Cooke, Prince and the Drifters. Warners block stuff but don't really give me a hard time over it.
Perhaps more interestingly, to get around this issue I started to sing the songs myself, only to find I was STILL in trouble because people had copyrighted the arrangement! They don't ban them but they get the advert revenue, which I suppose is fair enough.

# I had a parody removed..
..from Amiright.com - one of over a thousand I've written. Amiright, a US-hosted website, received a cease and desist notice from Warner Chappell, a US company, to take down the parody based on British law.

We caved to the pressure because even though there was not a hope in hell of WC (now there's an appropriate pair of initials if ever there was one) winning, it would have cost both me and the chap who runs amiright time and money (both of which are in very short supply).

The parody was a Noel Coward one - "Don't Let's Be Beastly To The Muslims", and led to another parody to the same song "Don't Let's Be Beasts To Warner Chappell".

I've written to ask at least a dozen copyright owners of songs I want to parody, nearly all of which didn't even bother replying.. so technically my first CD is largely copyright infringements. So I haven't sold many (sigh).

I've also had many a parody submission turned down by shows such as Bremner, Bird and Fortune for permission reasons rather than quality ones - Disney, for example, as a copyright holder never seem to give permission for their songs to be parodied (which is a shame, because they're such great parody material).
