Valin always did, whenever he was online, with something so out there and unexpected that I was taken aback and struggling to keep up with the directions his mind would go in. A real loss :(

I can only echo what others have said, Valin would always comment even on the worst of my posts, which I always appreciated as, at least, letting me know someone had seen it. I always appreciated that.

that was my first thought when I read this news. I knew he was one of b3ta's more senior members, but not that he was so ill.
You could always rely on him to comment and appreciate others' work with wit and some truly inspired punnery, and, of course, those wonderfully surreal animations were part of the fabric of this place.
